Welcome to the Daventry Golfers website

We're a small golf society based in Daventry, Northamptonshire.  Our original "home" was the Falconer pub in the town, before it closed to make way for a convenience store.  In 2012 we moved to Caseys Club in the town centre.  That also closed (nothing to do with us, honest!) and for 2018 we will be basing ourselves at Daventry Golf Club, although we will be playing our society days at other courses.

Our members have a large range of handicaps. These are reviewed after every society day and adjustments made to ensure it is kept fair for everyone who plays. For new members we allow a maximum handicap of 36 as we think this helps make the days far more enjoyable for new, inexperienced golfers.

In the past we have generally played an individual stableford format on our society outings and held an annual leaderboard competition, with the winner taking the prestigious "green jacket". However, for 2018 we are hoping to break with tradition and try some different formats, so there will be no annual leaderboard competition.

There is currently a £20 fee to become a member. From your second round onwards this entitles you to play for any prizes we have on society days and to enter any competitions we may hold. However, anyone thinking about joining can come along to one of our society days as a guest to see if they enjoy the format and the people before becoming a full member.

Please browse this website for more information about the society. If you are interested in joining us, please use the Contact Us page to get in touch and we'll be happy to provide you with more details.
